At UNCCD COP17 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the ICCF Group and Legal Atlas presented lessons learned and recommendations from the GEF-UNEP Policy Coherence for Global Environmental Benefits project.
The session highlighted pilot work in Colombia, Mongolia and Zambia and featured a panel with Colombian MP Jorge Méndez and Mongolian MPs Munkhsoyol Baatarjav and Undraa Agvaanluvsan, who shared their perspectives on the role of policymakers in advancing policy coherence.
About the ICCF Group in Mongolia
The Nature Conservation Caucus at the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia (NCC) was established on July 30, 2021 and is comprised of 12 members. The Caucus has been active in its work to improve the legal environment in support of green development and monitor and ensure the implementation of corresponding legislation. The NCC and the ICCF Group established an official Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on the maintenance of healthy forests, forest restoration, pasture management, combating illegal mining practices and green budgeting based on leading international nature conservation experiences.
