The proposal to protect and conserve at least 30% of the planet’s land and ocean by 2030 has become one of the central elements of the global biodiversity strategy that was to be finalized at the COP15.
This resulted in the agreement of a $30B fund for biodiversity announced at the Montreal Summit for megadiverse countries like Indonesia.
This parliamentary briefing to the Indonesia Oceans Caucus highlighted the socio-economic benefits of this proposal and underscored the leading role that Indonesia can play in the region and on the global stage by further advancing terrestrial and marine conservation.
