The third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), co-hosted by the governments of France and Costa Rica, took place in Nice, France, from June 9-13, 2025. This year’s conference aimed to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14 to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development and identify further ways and means to promote action. UNOC3 involved governments, intergovernmental organizations, civil society, and the private sector, to assess challenges and opportunities relating to the implementation of SDG 14.

In partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the ICCF Group facilitated the participation of parliamentary leaders from the nonpartisan caucuses we support around the world. These parliamentarians represent the Conservation and/or Oceans Caucuses in their respective countries working to build political consensus, strengthen legislative frameworks, and find the best conservation governance solutions.
